A Cleaned Up Version of NOIS Views?

We know you read our take on Gary Sheffield's most recent media storm.

Think maybe ESPN's Jemele Hill did, too?

No, probably not?

But we certainly like her point of view on it.

This post isn't about Gary but about Vick. I'm not naive at all about the issues of race in American society but you gotta check out some of the posts at AOL Fanhouse if you have not already.http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/07/19/judge-assigned-to-michael-vick-dog-fighting-case-rarely-grants/.

Sir, it is clear now more than ever that Central Florida's loss is the nation's (and, no doubt, righteousness') gain. Ms. Hill fought the good fight at the Orlando Sentinel before being called to a larger pulpit, and while we here are lesser now that our local writers are uniformly white and male, we rejoice that at last Mr. Sheffield has a national advocate in his struggle against our common enemy, Mr. Joe Torre.

That's a bit bold, sir. I'm all for the fight against the evil Dukeotomy, the Torre Regime and the Assassination of Michael Vick, but not if it involves her. Life is much better in Orlando without her. I can go to a Predators game without the crippling self-loathing.
