More evidence that the devil in Durham is slowing being slain...
The top returning scorer on the Duke Devils basketball cult, Demarcus Nelson, will undergo wrist surgery and be out 6-8 weeks.
Another potential Duke starter crushed by the power of righteousness.
Praise be.

Praise be again: the hand Demarcus Nelson injured was his left. The righteous know that is the side of evil, for the righteous sit on the right side of God.
Years ago I was crushed when I received a rejection letter from Duke. Now that I've been informed that the school is the center of all evil, I feel relieved. Once again thank you, NOISB, for making me feel better about myself by illuminating the evil in others.
"Years ago I was crushed when I received a rejection letter from Duke. "
Sir, rejection from dook is acceptance by righteousness.
I feel bad for ballers that go to Duke.
They go there actually believeing they will further their exposure and game, and wind up a cog in the Blue Devil Machine.
"They go there actually believeing they will further their exposure and game, and wind up a cog in the Blue Devil Machine. "
You'd think these kids would get the picture by now.
Poor kids, go to a school to play basketball, and all they get is a top ten degree in the nation and a road to a healthly life. Man, that sucks.
" a road to a healthly life."
Sir, yea...ummm...because spending significant time around Coach K has proven to be the path for that....
Would you please provide me with some examples of what you are talking about. I am referring to Duke University being one of the most prestigous institutions in the country and that by obtaining a degree from this school you can truly graze your own path. Can you give me evidence where this is not the case? Even the likes of Jay Williams, whose career was so unfortunately taken away from him, has suceeded in TV journalism.
" Even the likes of Jay Williams, whose career was so unfortunately taken away from him, has suceeded in TV journalism."
Sir, so you are contending that a DEGREE from Duke (did he actually ever graduate?) is what got him into TV journalism??
Wow.
You never gave any evidence, nois, but tried to strategically divert the debate to an attack on gmb inc's statements... nice work.
And yes, Jason Williams did graduate. Although he considered leaving duke after his Sophomore year, Coach K convinced him to stay for his junior year with a heavy workload and graduate in three years. Jason Williams, now tragically unable to compete in the NBA, considers that guidance to have led to the best decision he ever made (staying in school and completing his degree).
So not only were u wrong in your assumption that he didn't graduate, but also wrong in the statement that spending time around Coach K won't lead to a healthy life.
Now, if you would please answer the question that gmb inc directly posed on whether or not you actually had any examples, or were just talking out of your ass as usual.
Sir, I can't answer the questions until MY question is answered.
And you, not very cleverly, completely skipped over it in that drivel you spilled on my blog...
The contention is that a DEGREE from Duke led to Williams broadcasting career? Really!?
"So not only were u wrong in your assumption that he didn't graduate"
Sir, didn't a ASK if he had graduated? I didn't know...so I ASKED. How is that a wrong assumption?
You are another of the barely literate nayseers that come here to try to contradict and oppose all that is said. Yet, you don't even read what is written.
If you are going to simply argue about things, based on what you WISH we had said...rather than what we DID say, what is the point?
Start your own blog and argue with yourself.
Clearly, you are blinded by emotion and aren't even reading what is said. Couple that with your unmitigated need to try to prove NOIS wrong....and you miss the point of everything that is written.
And look foolish.
Sometimes, it's better to be seen than heard. A silent man can't lose an argument.
Silence is YOUR friend. Embrace it.
"Sir, I can't answer the questions until MY question is answered."
He posed the question first, and now you are once again trying to divert the fact that you didn't have any basis for the comment:
"" a road to a healthly life."
Sir, yea...ummm...because spending significant time around Coach K has proven to be the path for that...."
I think it's time you stop spouting out essays on the possible misuse of one word (assumption... which, by the way, when you phrase a question "did he ACTUALLY ever graduate?", it would infer that you assumed he did not), and actually man up and back up your statements.
So, for the third time, would you please divulge who exactly you had in mind with your statements, instead of simply changing the subject once again.
"(assumption... which, by the way, when you phrase a question "did he ACTUALLY ever graduate?", it would infer that you assumed he did not), and actually man up and back up your statements."
Sir, you have FURTHER misquoted us.
If the question about Williams graduating had been typed out as you have it, with emphasis on 'actually', you would be correct.
But, IT WASN'T!!!!!
We DIDN'T place any emphasis on it, we simply typed the question, "did he actually ever graduate?"...NO emphasis by us.
YOU put that there.
Again, you have done NOTHING but support our contention that you don't use logic in addressing our statements, you only use emotion. And that emotion stems from, what you have now PROVEN to be, a consuming desire to try to prove us wrong.
So much so that now you have intentionally attempted to misquote us by emphasising a word we didn't place emphasis on...in yet another pathetic attempt to argue with us over something YOU WISH we had said...
To make this long story short...your last two attempts to prove us wrong have only proven you are delusional.
It's all here. Typed out.
Yet you see things that aren't here.
You are delusional.
Were you coached by coach K? You don't seem healthy.
And your demands that we answer questions lodged by people that have proven they have no intention using what we ACTUALLY (emphasis by us) type as the basis for argument is laughable.
Show us that you can properly interpret some of the answers we have given thus far, without purposely misquoting us when you rebut, and we will try and move the conversation further along.
" think it's time you stop spouting out essays on the possible misuse of one word"
possible misuse of a word?
you are shit head.
you accuse nois of SAYING that williamns never graduated when all NOIS did was ASK if he had graduated?
that isn't misuse of a word. that is misuse of a brain.
you are stupid and got caught in an attempted lie.
keep steamrolling this joker, nois...every post makes him look dumber.
and neither of these two coach k nutslobberers have answered the most important question of all...the one nois asked...
clearly, one of the guys insinuated that the DEGREE from duke was the reason Jwilliams got the broadcasting gig. nois asked if you shitstains are gonna stand by that?
how bout you guys man up and answer...after all it's nois's blog...no one comes here to read what you two coach k mongers have to say...
wow, nois, i'm impressed... i didn't think you could do it.
After 3 times getting asked point blank if you had any evidence in your statements, you have once again failed to be a man and actually back them up. This time, you actually wrote more about even less (an emphasis?, come on...), only in an effort to try and prove me wrong so that you don't have to answer the question.
Go back and re-read the main point of my last comment, and then realize that you proved it exactly, better than I could ever have imagined.
I'm not expecting you to actually answer the question (you'll probably try and quibble over a comma or something), but, for the FOURTH time, what examples do you have to support your statements?
p.s. Yes, you did not emphasize the word 'actually'. However, I decided to capitalize it to show that, prior to my telling you that he did graduate, you had assumed otherwise. (if you thought he graduated you would not have asked the question in the first place)

Sir, again. You aren't even asking the right question.
You want to know what was suggested?
Quite simply, "alumns" of the Duke basketball program haven't exactly gone on to magnificent success in the NBA. Sure, you can site an example or two.
Additionally, his two prized pupils that have gone on to semi-high profile coaching jobs have shit the bed, Amaker and Snyder.
So, commence you treatment of misquoting and poor reading comprehension....I'll begin it for you:
"Hey NOIS, you said that Duke has never had anyone play in the NBA and that none of Coach K's assistants have gone on to head coaching jobs...."
Admit it, you were gonna post that.
Tripod, it appears it is now you who should be accused of illiteracy.
"you accuse nois of SAYING that williamns never graduated when all NOIS did was ASK if he had graduated?"
I never accused nois of SAYING that. I merely stated that given his posing of the question, it is clear that he had thought otherwise, for he surely would never have asked the question had he thought JW graduated.
I almost feel guilty about being right all the time.
"(if you thought he graduated you would not have asked the question in the first place) '
Sir, actually, and certainly for someone such as yourself that rejects logic and reason...If we are unsure of something, WE ASK.
If we thought he had graduated, we would not have asked. If we didn't know....we asked.
Must be hard going through life NEVER asking questions. But, it does explain a lot about your unequalled ignorance.
As for re-reading your post to somehow ascertain your main point. HA.
Your point is clear.
You have none, other than to impotently challenge everything we say.
"I never accused nois of SAYING that. I merely stated that given his posing of the question, it is clear that he had thought otherwise, for he surely would never have asked the question had he thought JW graduated."
no. you said this:
"So not only were u wrong in your assumption that he didn't graduate"
accusing nois of assuming williams didn't graduat...because nois asked if he did....
holy shit, that is some dumb logic.
so, when someone asks you a like, "is derek jeter the shortstop for the yankees", you ASSUME that means they think that jeter is NOT the shortstop for the yankees...
DING DING....we have a new idiot of the week at NOIS...
way to go dumbass, you come out on top of some good competition.
"I almost feel guilty about being right all the time"
Sir, if you could have whoever is reading this thread to you read it over again....
you'd see, you are completely innocent of that charge.
hey nois, is babe ruth in the hall of fame?
nois, i appreciate your attempted response, but the comment had nothing to do with NBA careers or assistant coaches becoming big time. The comment was addressed to Coach K not preparing his players for a road to a healthy life, which has nothing to do with either.
Now I am humored by your attempt to cover up your outlandish statements by diverting them to other issues, but you still have failed to support them sufficiently.
And one more thing, only because of how completely false it is...
"Quite simply, "alumns" of the Duke basketball program haven't exactly gone on to magnificent success in the NBA. Sure, you can site an example or two."
I'll save my time and let someone else argue this one for me...
http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/619557.html
"hey nois, is babe ruth in the hall of fame?"
Sir, how dare you assume that he is not!
"The comment was addressed to Coach K not preparing his players for a road to a healthy life, which has nothing to do with either."
Sir, who made the comment?
WE DID.
First, you interpret us asking if Jay graduated as an unequivocal statement that HE DID not graduate?
Now, you are telling us what OUR comment meant.
My goodness.
LOL.
We'll save you the time, since you can read OUR minds, go ahead and continue arguing with yourself...clearly our presence isn't even needed.
Again, you don't read a thing we say or argue with what we say.
You argue with what you WISH we had said.
That's called ignorant.
"nois, i appreciate your attempted response, but the comment had nothing to do with NBA careers or assistant coaches becoming big time. The comment was addressed to Coach K not preparing his players for a road to a healthy life, which has nothing to do with either."
nois, cut your losses.
this kid is a retard.
he didn't make the comment you were addressing...and he didn't write YOUR comment...yet he has decided what BOTH comments' writers intended?
jeezus...how do idiots like him remember to breathe?
Just so I understand you correctly... you are saying that the path to a healthy life involves one of two things: A successful coaching or NBA career?
now i understand completely, if you had only said so sooner
obviously, you struck a nerve with this guy nois.
few people would be willing to completely expose themselves as morons in a sorry effort to prove a non-existant point.
"Just so I understand you correctly... you are saying that the path to a healthy life involves one of two things: A successful coaching or NBA career?"
Sir, in the context of a sportsblog and a basketball program.
"now i understand completely"
Sir, another lie.
"if you had only said so sooner "
...what? you what have misquoted, misinterpreted and argued a completely different point than the one we were making, sooner?
"...what? you what have misquoted, misinterpreted and argued a completely different point than the one we were making, sooner? "
hahahah....another pelt on the wall...
this blog is a great IQ test!
nois!!rules is in the double digits.
BTW, this asshole who was demanding answers...STILL hasn't answered the question about the Duke degree being the reason that Williams got the broadcasting job.
Ah, well, the fact that Duke now boasts arguably the NBA's greatest alumni class aside, it appears that it is you who has misread this time.
dmb inc said:
"Poor kids, go to a school to play basketball, and all they get is a top ten degree in the nation and a road to a healthly life. Man, that sucks."
Even a three year old could figure out that he was not referring to nba success (big clue ahead: he brought up Jay Williams as an example)
So, respectfully, it appears that at the end of the day, it is you who is wrong, and the path to a healthy life he was referring to do had nothing to do with a successful NBA career.
LOL.
ooohhh....the local newspaper thinks duke has good nba talent, what a shock.
and didn't nois say that there were a FEW??
funny, K has coached 25 years at duke and there are are 2 guys that have had big careers (hill, brandt) 2 guys that are on the way (deng, boozer)...and....[crickets]...
"So, respectfully, it appears that at the end of the day, it is you who is wrong, and the path to a healthy life he was referring to do had nothing to do with a successful NBA career. "
Sir, that's fine....
And, that is why we only quoted PART of his quote...about the healthy life....and added the comment about coach K to it...
See, we took what he referenced...and brought coach K into it.
We're slick like that.
You aren't.
"it appears that at the end of the day, it is you who is wrong"
this kid can't be that dense?
all he has prove at the end of the day...is that nois was right.
noisrules!!1 is consumed with trying to prove nois wrong and doesn't care about context, logic or meaning.
this has been hard to watch.
the kid has had a meltdown.
"Ah, well, the fact that Duke now boasts arguably the NBA's greatest alumni class aside"
did you read the article???
it says they MAY have the best alumni class IN the NBA right NOW.
K even said, he's never had anything like Jordan, Worthy, Perkins etc...in the league at the same time...LOL
man, you are one blind dipshit.
"it says they MAY have the best alumni class IN the NBA right NOW."
I used the words 'now' and 'arguably' ... what else did you want me to say, in the current present day? it is debatable?
"And, that is why we only quoted PART of his quote...about the healthy life....and added the comment about coach K to it...
See, we took what he referenced...and brought coach K into it."
what you did was take his clearly stated quote and made a mess of it
(""Just so I understand you correctly... you are saying that the path to a healthy life involves one of two things: A successful coaching or NBA career?"
Sir, in the context of a sportsblog and a basketball program.")
the healthy life he was referring to obviously had nothing to do with basketball, only an idiot would try and challenge that statement with basketball-related statistics
you, sir, are that idiot
"you, sir, are that idiot "
HAHAHAHA!
A moron comes to nationofislamsportsblog.blogspot.com ....takes it SERIOUSLY...and then calls someone ELSE an idiot after he spends all day arguing with a site called nationofislamsportsblog.blogspot.com....???
HAHAHAHAHAHA....
HOLY SHIT!!!
I'm writing a new screenplay based on this thread, tell me what you think...
voice of reason: Duke players may initially go to school for basketball, but the experience of going to duke prepares them for a successful life in so many other ways
NOIS: hah yeah, coach k leading his players towards successful lives, that is so bogus!!
voice of reason: what do you mean? Look at Jay Williams, even though he tragically got injured he's still has a degree from duke and is now doing well as a tv journalist.
voice of reason: sir, what did you mean?... sir?... sir?!
NOIS: I mean... well... duke usually doesn't have alums that do well in the NBA, i mean some do... umm... and 2 of Coach K's former assistant coaches didn't do well, so there! hah!
voice of reason: but, I wasn't talking about basketball success at all, what the hell is wrong with you?
NOIS: but... I AM RIGHTEOUS!... i promise! wait... um... no... er... (starts sobbing uncontrollably)
fade to black...
"only an idiot would try and challenge that statement with basketball-related statistics"
Sir, and only an idiot would complete miss the statement we were challenging.
Everyone else here seems to have gotten it.
Don't you need to go make a post about a letter you wrote to the sports guy??
LOL.
"I'm writing a new screenplay based on this thread, tell me what you think..."
1- you aren't funny.
2- get a new screenwriter. you suck.
"fade to black... "
YAWN.
Holyshit, that whole comment was weak.
If only YOU would fade to black...
"Sir, and only an idiot would complete miss the statement we were challenging."
could you please divulge which statement you must have been challenging then? because, to me, it looks like it was this one:
"Poor kids, go to a school to play basketball, and all they get is a top ten degree in the nation and a road to a healthly life. Man, that sucks."
i don't know, i may be wrong
and try not to laugh at your own jokes, it's pathetic
"I'm writing a new screenplay based on this thread, tell me what you think..."
ugh.
I looked at your profile and went to your "blog".
No wonder it failed and no one reads it. And NOIS gets links almost every other day from deadspin, withleather, tbl and ksk and invites from sporting new radio...and you...you leave comments like that screen play.
ugh.
"and try not to laugh at your own jokes, it's pathetic '
shit, at least nois can laugh at his own jokes.
YOU can't even laugh at the screenplay thing.
"I looked at your profile and went to your "blog".
No wonder it failed and no one reads it."
i'll explain the wonder as to why it failed... you ready?
it failed because it never existed, i've never blogged a single thing in my life... but great investigative work there, champ.
you're cuttin me deep al, you and your blog criticisms
"I looked at your profile and went to your "blog".
No wonder it failed and no one reads it."
HAHA. he took the link to his own blog down. LOL.
Hiding your masterpiece there, buddy?
"YOU can't even laugh at the screenplay thing."
only because of how sad the truth is
"only because of how sad the truth is "
you mean, how sad the writing is...
ya suck,homey!
"HAHA. he took the link to his own blog down. LOL.
Hiding your masterpiece there, buddy?"
what? no? jesus, what the hell is wrong with you people?
I just said that i've never written a blog in my life, but nice psychoanalysis anyways
"what? no? jesus, what the hell is wrong with you people?"
mmhmm.
I read al's comment and then looked at your profile. the link was there.
then i read your post and went back to actually check out the blog, and the link was gone.
nice try.
I'll momentarily forgive your persistent stupidity...
I signed up for the blogger thing I think at most a week ago because it was the only way I could post comments, i don't even know how to look at or set up blogs, nor do i care to.
Stop thinking you know me, it only makes you look dumb.
"Stop thinking you know me, it only makes you look dumb. "
umm, yea...
;)
I feel like Luke Wilson in 'Idiocracy' talking to you cheeze doodles
don't wink at me, you don't have some knowledge about me hiding blogs or anything, i don't write blogs, i've never 'blogged' in my life, i don't even know how to blog, where to prove to you that i haven't, anything
I don't know, maybe if you are so smart you can figure out the fact that i've had this account for about 5 days now, and put two and two together
this is too much..
a doofus comes to a site called nationofislamsportsblog.blogspot.com and takes things incredibly seriously. he argues with nationofislamsportsblog.blogspot.com...he argues with a writer who goes by the acronym NOIS.
and this doofus is calling everyone ELSE an idiot?
ummm...dude, you've come here and made an ass out of yourself.
cut your losses.
