Monday Night Madness: The Pack Wins Thriller

Fantastic finish to MNF.

The Pack was led to victory by a stout defensive effort and tremendous big play explosions by their wide receivers.

In the first quarter WR James Jones bust out a 79 yard tremendous catch and run.

And after a hard fought game ended in a regulation tie, over time lasted all of one play.

An amazing 82 yard catch and run by Greg Jennings left the Denver crowd shocked and awed.

While Kornheiser, Jaws and Tirico babbled on and about whatever topic they were beating to death, it was clear: the Pack owes their win and tremendous first half of the season to the fearlessness and explosiveness of their wide receivers.

The Pack is back.

clearly any dog can go fetch....what you need is the pinpoint accuracy of the great quarterback. Clearly the reason why the pack is winning is that they have the brains and toughness at the toughest position in pro sports..quarterback. Guys like Favre, Brady, Manning, Romo and even the other Manning continue to show the dominance of the white QB.

Before coming to the Pats, Moss was a pot-head and clubhouse cancer...under the intellectual guidance of football genius bill belicheck, Moss has been able to realize that his culturally-accepted behaviors could not lead to the ultimate success of winning a super bowl. Belicheck and Brady have won before, Moss has not, and although part of that can be blamed on playing for inferior coaches such as Dennis Green, it is clear that in this current situation Moss has been elevated by the greatness around him.

oh, so Moss sucked before this year?

huh, I thought he was on the way to a hall of fame career when he played in Minnesota. With a black QB.

THANK YOU!

If you watched the game last night it was another episode of Favre Felacio.

Thank you for not mentioning him in your post.

Some of you guys are morons. This post wasn't about black and white. It was about the announcers always being on Favre's jock.

Get a clue.

Listening to those announcers tongue Favre's balls for four quarters and change was disturbing to say the least. After the game, the way Favre was treated by the media left me thinking that this country really needs a hero. According to the MNF team, Favre is the answer to Jesus.

"yea, guess Moss makes those one handed and ridiculously acrobatic in traffic grabs because the throws are so perfect...HAHAHAH.."

Yea, I guess a few circus grabs in the past couple weeks by a physically gifted receiver completely discount the career of a 2-time Super Bowl MVP, 3-time SB winner, and cornerstone of a franchise that has dominated a decade with unfathomable consistency.

Not to mention a quarterback who has been a perennial winner in spite of the fact that he had a premiere running back behind him exactly one year of that illustrious career (Corey Dillon's first year in NE).

Moreover, aside from Deion Branch (who really is nothing more than a borderline-top NFL receiver), that scrub blindly throwing Moss his TD's never even had an upper echelon receiver to throw to, ever.

Tom Brady's number one receiver last year, a year in which the Patriots were a heartbeat away from another AFC championship (and probable Superbowl), did not make the team this year. Reche Caldwell, in fact, has done nothing for anyone this entire year

That said, I forgot about Moss' record-threatening touchdown totals with Andrew Walter and Aaron Brooks throwing the ball. Boy he really did all the work then, too.

Unknown said...

I forgot to add... just in case you didn't know, Tripod, that even negating ALL of Moss' touchdowns (which of course are not all highlight-reel ridiculous grabs to begin with), Tom "whitedevil" Brady has a TD-Int ratio of 19-2.

19-2!! I'd have to imagine that requires some semblance of precision, execution, and brains to beat opposing defenses.

I know the Patriots are shoving it in everyones face anyway, but as a lifelong Pats fan (and huge Brady fan)... ignorant comments like yours really piss me off. Haters.

can't you read? i said he failed when he was with the raiders and al davis. so, all you are doing is agreeing with me, even tho you act like you proving me wrong.

you ain't real smart, are you?

i never said brady ain't good. AND, when did BRADY ever threaten a TD record W/O MOSS???

the argument work both ways...Brady ain't never had a year like this EITHER, homie!!!

"I know the Patriots are shoving it in everyones face anyway, but as a lifelong Pats fan (and huge Brady fan)... ignorant comments like yours really piss me off. Haters."

so what you saying is that you are too biased to even indulge the idea that Brady's numbers have been helped by Moss and Moss's presence? wow. you come right out and admit you ignorant.

i was gonna insult you. but i respect a man that say straight up he too biased to even converse.

think about it tho, if you can...with the defenses scared to death of Moss right now, that open a lot up for Brady.

The numbers don't lie.

Brady was a winner for a long time. But he had a great scheme, a great line, a great kicker and defense that always came through.

But Brady weren't always a statistical god.

Til Moss arrived.

Can't argue the facts man.

And, why you call me a hater when everything i said is TRUE.????

Tripod-

You're right, it does work both ways. Forgive me for losing sight of that in my overzealous defense of my boy Tom.

Mr. Brady has always performed at a high level. He has been regarded as a clutch guy more known for his winning than his stats throughout his career.

His stats, however, have always been very efficient and well above average in spite of the perpetual lack of a top-notch running back or receiver to lean on. That is a fact.

Now that Brady (in the words of Randy himself) "has his receivers", the talent he has always had shines more than ever. His stats have now been elevated to astronomical heights with the help of his new receiver corps of Moss, Welker, and Stallworth.

Moss of course is the most dynamic and productive of the three big receiver acquisitions. What he and Brady are doing together is unreal. Brady still has to make the right throws, but when it comes confidence... Brady has been allowed a larger room for error than ever in his career thanks to Moss and it certainly shows.

Brady is loving it and as a Pats fan so am I. Randy is showing the NFL that he is the best receiver in the league (sorry, TO), just as Brady is showing he's the best QB.

The reason for my aforementioned overzealous defense of Mr. Brady is because there are so many Brady haters (I guess that's what happens when you're on top)... and they want to chalk up his success to anything but his own talent and motivation. Hence my reaction to your sarcastic quote.

In the end, though, I do agree the Moss factor cannot be ignored (not to overlook the contributions of Welker and Stallworth). He is nothing short of ridiculous and currently enjoying an unbelievable, well-deserved rejuvenation. Go Pats!!

ever seen photos of Favre from his college days -- particularly the ones taken on draft day? he's hhhhhhiiiiiiggggghhhhhhh. and wearing cut-off jean shorts. that's the part i found offensive. he also was a drunk and a painkiller addict before rehabbing. but, what does the drug use of highly functioning superstar athletes -- or anybody not playing for the Packers -- have to do with this topic?

i actually like Farve. he really looks like he's having fun out there while he takes risks that sometimes don't pay off but when they do they're always specatcular teammate-inspiring history-making highlights because he flings the ball like an 8-to-16 year-old who's just there to enjoy the game for as long as he can even though he could retire as a national treasure. oh, and his wife and children and sperm and poops and farts are national treasures too.

On another note, I agree with NOIS on two counts:

1. Green Bay's receiving corps is most definitely underrated. They have done more than their share to help this team succeed like it has this year. GB's ground game is among the worst in the league thus far but the team is still the biggest surprise of the year.

Greg Jennings is my crown jewel of free agent pickups at the beginning of this fantasy football season. I took a gamble on his early hamstring issue and now he's paying huge dividends for me, so I'm a bit partial towards him.

Jones was a great pick for them this year. He's contributed immediately as a rookie and has great hands (rated the best in the draft even over Calvin Johnson). Hopefully he puts that twin-fumble game a couple weeks ago behind him and keeps it up.

Driver is still the man of the receiving corps, and the toughest. But it's nice that he has some help now. This has been a great story for the NFL this year.

2. It's been beat to death by now, but yes the MNF crew was on Favre's dick way too much last night. He's had a great season and had a great game but the overkill did get annoying.

The one thing I kept thinking the most throughout the game was why on earth they had to show his wife in the stands so much. Even cut to a replay of her reaction after the game winner!! Enough already.

Whether or not the crew was sipping the Favre kool aid all night, however, I don't think that should take anything away from his performance. He still deserves credit for a great throw to Jennings at the end. Jennings did his part by grabbing it in stride and taking it home. Great finish.

Sir, yes this is a point of agreement.

Our departure from the overt beating that most people are giving the attention given to Favre was simply.....to recap the game WITHOUT mentioning him.

An interesting note:

When quarterback Donovan McNabb of the Philadelphia Eagles had his impressive performance on the 23rd of September against the Lions, the writer(s) of this blog wrote a piece which can be read at the link below:

http://nationofislamsportsblog.blogspot.com/2007/09/word-of-advice-to-donovan-mcnabb.html

In this entry, McNabb was exalted for having a spectacular game. McNabb went 21 for 26 in pass attempts and amassed 381 yards. No mention was made of Caucasian receiver Kevin Curtis, who had an impressive 221 receiving yards.

Following the past Monday Night game between the Packers and the Broncos, the post by the blog editor made no mention of Caucasian QB Brett Favre, who had a nearly identical 21 for 27 game and 331 passing yards while displaying excellent field generalship. Praise, however, was given to wide receivers Greg Jennings and James Jones, who together had 248 receiving yards, a mere 21 more than Curtis himself did in the September 23rd game against the Lions.

Five Pound Bag said...

Curtis would have had no yards without the Negro QB, while Favre would have thrown for a mere 83 yards fewer without his Negro WRs. Who is more worthy of mention and praise?

Please take your time to righteously reason your way to the correct result.

Sir, thank you.

Additionally, we haven't spent the past 9 weeks reading every columnist and listening to every talking head exhault McNabb.

In fact, McNabb has received almost nothing but criticism, despite the fact that the Eagles problems are easily traceable to the familial distractions Andy Reed has let destroy his program.

And, now, even more interestingly...Reed has been quoted as insinuating that McNabb is not the QB he once was.

Clearly, Reed is already getting ready to pass the blame and save his job.

Besides, the mainstream media took care of the reporting of Curtis' exploits.

Why should we add to the clutter?

Clearly by your logic, if the eagles current problems stem from Andy Reid then any success they have had in the past was a result of Reid (I see you can add spelling to your ever growing list of deficiencies). Hence you bring out the truth that McNabb has always been overrated...a product of Andy Reids system....but given a longer leash because he was viewed as some kind of "great black hope" at the QB position. Truth is he was never that good. Glad we agree.

As for why Moss is putting up such great numbers this year...two words..Wes Welker..the superior talents of Welker are allowing more opportunities for Moss to get open and succeed.

"Sir, we don't remember ever doing a post specifically ABOUT Coach Willingham."

Perhaps this post is overdue.

Or more accurately, a post that describes whatever forces are undermining the considerable and brilliant efforts of "Coach Ty." I noted this week that his team has exactly zero wins (for five attempts) in Pac 10 conference this year.

Being abundantly clear that none of the blame for this can be layed at Coach Ty's feet, the true culprit must be revealed.

My first (and only speculation at the moment) is the woeful performance of the Caucasion quarterback. (As all of the other major skill positions are occupied by Negros, they are playing their hearts out.) (I had thought that possibly the white Athletic Director might somehow be undermining the revered coach's performance, but as that person is a Tarheel grad he must also be blameless.)

In any case, whatever the cause, I'm sure this column will ingeniously discover and expose the true cause of the destruction for all to see.

In the meantime, Coach Ty will hopefully avoid "watching" and "taking notes" on the Notre Dame situation (as this blog has previously suggested) and concentrate on recovering from the debacle that is Husky football. Otherwise, he faces the very real possibility of (again) becoming a scapegoat for some ineptitude that is around him.

Sir, unfortunately, while you offer some interesting perspectives...we disagree.

Ty deserves the blame.

He is the who chose to play a white QB. And to try to use him as if he were a Negro QB.

As far as the situation in Seattle is concerned, Ty is man enough to shoulder much of the blame.

Check out espn.com's 40 Yard Dash column from the other day by Pat Forde. He brings to light some very interesting stats that show that after a similar tenure at ND, Ty and Charlie's results are virtually the same.

"In the meantime, Coach Ty will hopefully avoid "watching" and "taking notes" on the Notre Dame situation (as this blog has previously suggested) "

You took us out of context.

We said he should take notes in reference to how Charlie Weis has effectively blamed the preceding coach for any problems, and accepted all credit for any successes.

It had nothing to do with coaching and such.

Please, at least if you try to quote us, keep it in context, eh?
