Parcells Was The Cancer

They'd have you believe that Terrell Owens is a cancer. That TO is out for TO. That he isn't a team player. That he only cares about being in the news and having all eyes on him.

They'd tell you that he took the joy out of coaching for Bill Parcells last season. That he underachieved and didn't give his best.

They'd tell you a lot of things. But not necessarily the whole story.

Certainly, the crotchety and aging white coach who has a few rings couldn't be the problem. It had to have been the attention grabbing, self-centered and lazy young Negro millionaire. Right?

Not so fast, my brother.

"He has a lot of pride. He's a top receiver, and he's in shape," Jerry Jones said. "It wouldn't surprise me if he had the resolve to do better than he did last year and improve on some things. I'm surprised he's practicing, but I think he's excited about the team we've got, and he just wanted to get involved."

He's talking about TO? The man the media tells us doesn't care about anything but TO? The team cancer? The guy that drove Parcells from coaching? That TO?

And what about TO, the cancer in the locker room?

"It's a little bit more relaxed. I think you can tell that by the atmosphere in the locker room. I don't think I just have to really spell it out for you, but I think it's very evident.", said Owens.

And some teammates concurred with Owens assessment of things. Julius Jones was critical of Parcells as well.

So, despite the media's presentation of things in Dallas. We can inventory the situation rather easily. Last year, with Parcells, Owens spent much of preseason prep time working on rehabbing a leg injury. Working very hard to get ready and be in 100% condition for the season. While Owens recovered and worked diligently on his rehab, Parcells seemed to pace violently and impatiently. Angry that Owens body had the nerve not respond to Parcells' demands to get better and get on the field.

And this year? Owens shows up after off season surgery on his ring finger. Healing ahead of schedule. And he works the full load at mini-camp. His body healing at a faster rate.

You don't have to be a scientist to figure this out. Remove the cancer, and the body can heal.

Owens is still in Dallas. Parcells is gone. The body is healing.

You tell us who the cancer was.

Sir, while not taking the side of Plantation Foreman Parcells, I am hesitant to believe that Master Jones does not have some ulterior motive or interest here. Master Jones paid quite a bit for TO at the auction and has an investment. If it doesn't work out, who else is going to buy his property off of him? It is cheaper for him to just change out the Plantation Foreman then go into town to the auction.

Sir, you make lucid points.

We would never dispute that the stretchedskinfaced owner of the 'Boys wouldn't do what was best for himself.

We are just pointing out that removing the rotten fish from the Cowboys complex seems to have everyone, particularly TO, breathing fresh air.

Sir, not getting along with three white men is clearly a sign that TO is a "turd"? If that is the case, I guess every one of my Negro brethren is a "turd" in your eyes? (Except for Wayne Brady - he IS white.)

How very close minded of you, Sir.

Owens was fine during the DeBartelo/Seifert/SYoung/Jerry Rice era. i agree things went downhill fast when the York/Mariucci era began. as a Niners fan, that's when i too caught a nasty (nastier?)attitude towards NFL plantations/masters/
overseers.

it's undeniable that discord has accompanied Parcells on each and every of his NFL journeys. he hasn't gotten along with a single owner for whom he's worked (ok, i'm not aware of conflict w/WMara but i know there was shit betw Parcells and Simms Sr.) when the situation is so bad that the white devil can't fake an united public front? says a lot.

Sir, not getting along with three white men is clearly a sign that TO is a "turd"?

The person who forced T.O. out of Philly was Donovan McNabb..last i checked he was a brother.....you use this blog in any way you can to make idiotic racist points...
T.O. is one of the most overrated players in sports..he lead the NFL last year in dropped passes...musta been Parcells fault too. Again you spin a racism web to cover up for shortcomings.

Andy Reid's eagles won their division last year and advanced in the playoffs..all after their negro quarterback was replaced by a white man. They would have had an even better record if McNabb sat out more games...the real problem is giving players like McNabb and Vick leadership roles...they are much better suited for positions where they are told what to do.

Sir, actually, other than the Giants...and depending on what happens this year and the near future in the Big D...the organizations have done BETTER after he left.

And with the Giants. He was willing to shut his suck and let LT do his dirty. Once Parcells got too big for his britches and decided he was the MAN...things fell apart. If he would have stopped brooding, shut up and let TO do his dirty. The 'Boys might have gone all the way.

And you know this.

All we did was point out that ALL the cowboys seem happy Parcells is gone. From Jones on down to the water boy.

If you take that as racist, I can't help it that you only see black and white. That is YOUR issue. Not an issue with the blog.

Let go of your hate. Racism hurts the racist as much as the victims.

That had more to do with the play of tony romo than with TO. Great receivers dont drop passes..look at marvin harrison.

Sir, actually, other than the Giants...and depending on what happens this year and the near future in the Big D...the organizations have done BETTER after he left.
That is because he overhauls the organization and through the draft makes the teams better for many years..New England was a laughingstock before he got there and they went to the super bowl and the jets were 1-15 and went to the conference championship. Anyone who actually knows about football sees parcells as one of the greatest motivators and coaches of all time. TO's act wears thin on everyone he plays with...what is your explanation for Donovan McNabb demanding the eagles get rid of TO...is McNabb some kind of white supremist?
TO has not won anywhere!!! He is a crybaby who sells out his teammates in the press and that is why as good as he may be he doesnt last anywhere.

nation_of_islam_sportsblog said...

Sir, show me the quote, the one that goes "I demand TO be traded".

Never happened they got along really well...it was the white head coaches fault he got traded from Philly...and from San Fran...that is the only answer you accept. Not the fact that his teammates hated him..that he was a selfish egomaniac and unprofessionally yelled at mcnabb on the sidelines many times. The fact that teams would rather do without his on field talent than deal with him off the field says all you need to know about that jerks character.
And there are too many blacks in the NFL..they make up about 70 percent of the league but only 10 percent of the US population..it is only fair that about60 percent of the black players in the NFL are immediately replaced by white players....these teams shouldnt all be about winning games and making money...representing percentages is the way to go...i have seen your light..oh wise man.

In a broadcast interview, McNabb rehashed some of the low moments of his relationship with his teammate, making fun of Owens' driveway apology and bringing up the race angle.

In November, responding to a question from Michael Irvin during an interview, Owens said Philadelphia would likely be in a better situation if Brett Favre was the quarterback instead of the banged-up McNabb.

"It was like, it's unreal," McNabb said. "That's like me going out and saying, `Hey, if we had Steve Largent. If we had Joe Jurevicius. It was definitely a slap in the face to me. It was a slap in the face because, as deep as people want to go into it, it was black-on-black crime."

TO is a racist!!!!!

Anonymous said...

By Michael Smith
ESPN.com
(Archive)McNabb said Owens' attitude and approach spread throughout -- and ultimately divided -- the team. The result was a different group in terms of chemistry and camaraderie than the one that went to four consecutive NFC title games from 2001 to 2004. For example, McNabb's annual dinner party for the offense was scarcely attended compared to past years, with several starters skipping the event.

"What I've come to realize, what I've come to see, especially since I've been hurt," said McNabb, who spent the final seven games on injured reserve with a groin injury resulting from a sports hernia and underwent surgery soon after, "[is] seeing guys not trusting the guy next to them. If they're not talking about you publicly or what you're doing or not doing, then 'I'm in the clear.'

Sounds like a cancer to me.

nation_of_islam_sportsblog said...

Sir, in spite of the fact that YOU have chosen to ignore our request to supply the quote in which McNabb unequivocally says "TO must be traded or let go"; we'll obliged.

Just to prove you wrong. Again.

From an old USA today tag;

"Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jeremiah Trotter said this week he would welcome embattled receiver Terrell Owens back to the team with open arms."

you labeled parcells a cancer...when in fact the person you have defended has proven to be the real cancer in every situation he has been in. You arent very smart...you flip thru a thesaurus to try to find more impressive words that mask your empty arguments. TO had problems with Garcia in SF, McNabb and Parcells..basically everywhere he goes and if you dont find mcnabbs comments to be the equivalent of saying the eagles needed to get rid of Owens then you are denser than i thought...and i already thought you were completely dense.
Give it 2 weeks into training camp before he is either bitching about Romo or Phillips..it is just what he does. But keep defending your fine role models like bonds and owens and dismiss jordan and tomlinson...it shows you for what you truly are just someone who hates white people.

i know it's bad form to comment on a post more than a day after it was published but just a couple of "oh my god do you even know how to do an internet search before you write an ignorant comment" replies before i can move on:

Marriuci was FIRED at the conclusion of the 2002 season. Owens EXERCISED HIS OPTION TO VOID THE FINAL YEARS OF HIS CONTRACT at the end of the 2003 season. The Niners claimed TO's agent missed the deadline for filing some kind of paperwork, and TRIED TO KEEP HIM FROM LEAVING. At some point the Niners traded him to the Titans or the Ravens, i forget which. At same time, TO signed with Eagles. Litigation, litigation, settlement. Win, Owens.

What players supported TO? Until either the blow up with McNabb or the dancing on the Devil's Satanic Star incident, the Royal Descendent of Brigham Young himself repeatedly defended TO's work ethic and ability to be a team player. as did Mr. Rice.

and, since when does Donovan McNabb speak for all present and former Eagles, Niners and Cowdogs? that's just one man's opinion. it's like asking most people what they think of their ex-spouse. interesting how the white commenter chooses as his representative of the Negro NFL players the white media's preferred negro quarterback who eats America's Favorite Soup and grins for the camera.

As long as you continue to pretend that the biggest thing holding african americans back are white people...i can pretend to do whatever i please.
I do know for a fact that every african american in this country has the opportunity for a public tax dollar paid education...in NYC that amounts to about 12,ooo dollars per student per year. Last I checked nobody was standing outside the schools stopping black kids from going in....lack of parental guidance is more likely the cure for them not going in. Have you ever spoken to an inner city public school teacher..thought not...they may key you into reality...they fear for their safety on an everday basis...trying to teach students who know they dont have to be accountable for their actions. That is why white teachers are leaving the city system and the city schools continue to go downhill. Percentage wise the funding for these schools is the same as it was 20 years ago...so what has changed?? again face reality.
Also fact...black students are accepted into major universties with lower high school GPA's and SAT scores than white students with the same socio-economic background. So stop talking about what is not a afforded you and start exploiting all that is.

So, if you don't mind...When we see you bandy about the word "fact", with nothing but YOUR track record to back it...We'll go ahead and print your words out on a nice sheet of white paper.

And wipe our asses with it.

Sure, it will be rough. But we are sure that the soft nothingness of your ability to cogently argue "facts" will ease the pain.

Ms. O'Donnell is an out and about lezbot.

We simply pointed out that she probably can't get her fill.

How is that bigoted?

Maybe she was tired of waiting in line behind you at the watermelon and chicken buffet...you bigoted retard.

Sir, again, you misunderstand what a "fact" is.

A fact is something that is substantiated by relevent proof. In this case, that would be statistics.

You love saying "fact", and then never backing it up.

Please...you have your head so buried you could probably see China. You selectively respond to things..glossing over the things you are afraid to face. I am not in the midwest somewhere...i write about what i see...because you choose not to see them makes you useless to your community.

Sir, if that's the case, all she had to do was ask to pass.

Sure, we are big fans of the watermelon and chicken buffet, but we certainly aren't gluttons.

Again, you didn't demonstrate how that makes us bigots.

:)

Sir, finally, we get somewhere.

An admission that you are writing your impressions and opinions. Not facts.

Excellent. Love making progress like this.

And, now, with this admission coupled with your racism:

It becomes easy to dismiss everything you say as simply racist drivel.

You yourself admit these aren't facts.

This is an excellent breakthrough.

Thanks for that.

Sir, we see your point.

The Negro community should instead turn its collective attention to the wild racist ramblings of someone that admits what he says are not facts. And espouses that 400 years of slavery and racism have no effect today.

Touche, sir!

We'll see if we can get a second for this at the next meeting.

Again waiting for ONE example of how you have been hindered in reaching any of your goals because of the effects of slavery....speak from your own experience..enlighten me..you must have hundreds of personal examples.

"Again waiting for ONE example of how you have been hindered in reaching any of your goals because of the effects of slavery"

Sir, for hundreds of years Negroes were treated as non-humans.

This was INGRAINED and institutionalized within white American society.

Slaves were freed by and Act of the Government. At that time, did the same act of the government also magically change the ingrained behaviorial attitude in much of white america that Negroes were sub human and inferior?

Or did that sentiment linger and does it still smolder in many white americans?

When slaves were freed, were they immediately given access to equal education. Equal chance at property ownership. Equal employment?

Or where the Negroes either held back by Jim Crow laws? Were separate schools that did little to meet educational needs built? Were colleges especially for Negroes that taught little more than agriculture funded?

If a Negro points these things out as a contributing to the problems that face the Negro community today to a white person...does that white person dismiss the 400 years of history and simply say "whats done is done. sorry bout the boats and the slavery. fix this yourself".

That attitude stops many Negroes from reaching their goals.

For me, that attitude is greatly interefering with my goal of having an intelligent conversation.

It is interefering with my goal of living in a country where people can be reasonable. Where they can look past the color of a persons skin.

It is interefering with my goal of living in a hate free country.

A country in which the descendents of the slave owners don't simply get MAD because the decendents of the slaves aren't successfully "fixing it themselves". But need help.

It is hindering your goals also. Your resentment and anger at Negroes for not agreeing with your manifest that "everything is their fault" prevents you from being rational and logical.

It is hindering your goals because seeing Negroes trying to better themselves somehow leaves you feeling threatened.

And you should feel threatened.

Read the demographic trends of this country.

Your way of thinking is going to be extinct as soon as the baby boomers die out.

"who are the true racists again?"

racists come in all colors.

"Ok educate me...tell me how YOU have been sidetracked or hampered in reaching your so called "success" by the actions of a white person. Give a specific example and if not then how were you able to achieve your goals and the majority of others in your community not able to. I congratulate you on your successes, you have probably show a great deal of iniative and hard work and personal accountablity..too bad most dont follow your example."

1. i'm probably one of the older individuals on this site; i've lived in american society my entire life. i have 3 degrees (2 post-graduate)and i've been in the professional workforce for almost [oh god smite me now] 20 years. there's not enough space on the internets for me to specify the many times the devil has tried to block me. and 99.9999% of them have been people like you who hide their racist belief system behind a facade of neutrality. i can only think of 3 times when the white person openly admitted that their actions/words were racially motivated. for example, i guess it's pretty obvious when someone calls you a "nigger" they have race-based motivations.

thanks for the congratulations. i have achieved my success, i believe, because i have been blessed with brains, communication and critical thinking skills and a personality that enables me to stand up against the devil, be persistent and beat him at his own game. in other words, i'm smarter than the people who try to take me down, i win and i make them sorry that they tried.

I'm gonna tell you something. Somebody messes with me, I'm gonna mess with with him. Somebody steals from me, I'm gonna say you stole. Not talk to him for spitting on the sidewalk. Understand. Now, I have done nothing to harm these people but they are angered with me[.] . . . I pray to god if I ever had a grievance I'd have a little more self respect. ... what are you prepared to do? If you open the can on these worms you must be prepared to go all the way because [i'm] not gonna give up the fight . . .

i'm out - really busy this week. if i don't reply to the next stream of babble, it's not because i can't

first of all you are right. Thank you for backing my point. You are motivated, smart and had the drive and personal accountablity to thrive. If you can do it then obviously there are roads that you have found that most in your community fail to see or dont care to see. You are proof that even with all the racism that exists success is achieveable. You are proof that racism is not enough of an excuse to accept social failure.

nation_of_islam_sportsblog said...

"You are proof that racism is not enough of an excuse to accept social failure. "

Sir, and you are proof that racists will find any excuse to proliferate their evil intentions.

Your assumption is that EVERY single Negro that does NOT achieve, has chosen not to try. Has poor values. Is lazy. Is unmotivated.

And that is what makes you a racist.

You ignore circumstance.

Just because someone is stuck in the ghetto doesn't automatically mean they aren't doing their damnedest to get out.

You are a disgusting person.

Your assumption that anyone that has not accomplished great things in life is lazy, is symptomatic of the ivory tower mentality.

You've had no obstacles in your life. Your life is easy. Spare me the BS and made up stories of hardship that will follow.

Sometimes, like when one is sinking in quicksand, the harder you try to get out. The deeper you sink.

Your spot in hell is assured. Devil.

You are the same person that probably spits on homeless people. Or tells them to get jobs. That it is all their own doing that they are homeless.

Discounting that, yes some of them have made no effort at life, but many have been dealt a lousy hand or horrible disadvantages.

You are the person that makes fun of orphans. "Losers, why don't you have parents!"

You are the person that teases "special" kids, "HAHA, you have a mosaicism of the 23rd chromosome..HAHA".

You said years ago, "hey stupid refugees in war torn ethiopia, feed your damn selves!"

Soon, and it will be in your lifetime.

You will be the minority in this land. And your wonderful advantage will all slowly fade away.

And when your children complain that "it's not fair that all the Latino's and the Negroes get the good jobs and educations"...Remember: "Quit Whining and fix it yourself"

You don't even realize it.

People like you, that refuse to acknowledge what is going on and what has gone on in this country. That say "racism effects nothing", you are the reason this country is changing so. Look around you. White families have 1 or 2 kids. Negro and Latin families have 3, 4, 5 or more...

People like you have made it abundantly clear. You are not interested in reason. You are not interested in acknowledging that this country's history has negatively impacted this country's today.

You have chosen to fight tooth and nail against minorities. Your "tough love" and strictly "boot straps" mentality, in which YOU place ALL blame on the disadvantaged is causing this country to change.

Minorities are ACTIVELY working towards unseating YOU through proliferation.

And, racists like you have brought this country to the tipping point. In America, there are more non-whites under 5 years of age than whites.

You choose not to be reasonable. Not to work towards a better America through addressing the problems the racist and slave owning history of this country have left.

And, as a result, in your lifetime, you are going to feel what generations of minorities have felt in this country. Frustration and futility of effort.

And please, when it happens. Let's not call it racism. Cause,as you have so eloquently pointed out. Racism has no effect on success in the USA.

that is because white families generally choose to have the amount of children they can take care of...flooding the population with fatherless children does not make a population stronger..it will just be a case of the many relying on the few to get them by. 70 percent my friend..the vicious cycle as you say doesnt end overnight and this cycle is only spinning deeper into despair.

Minorities are ACTIVELY working towards unseating YOU through proliferation.
If you were that organized we would not have the problems we are facing.

Again the problem is not with all minorities or people of color..these problems run rampant in the African american community.
And you prove YOUR racism...all you hope to do is expound racist punishment over white people not gain equality..you are hateful...but dont get too upset i wouldnt want hypertension to take you any sooner than it will.

Sir, it's laughable.

The Grand Wizard here calling ANYONE racist. LOL.

You can't upset me...ignorance draws my pity, not my ire.

once again you prove my point..when anyone disagrees with your take they are racist..that is your trump card and you try to pull it out for every defense...you set double standards.
like with the jesse jackson book...you call the authors claims unsubstantiated...well then why would a rich powerful man like jesse not sue and have the book pulled. It is the same logic you used for coca cola not suing Jackson?

Sir, the authors site no sources. It is all conjecture.

Jesse Jackson is a Negro in America. He may have some money. But rich and powerful?

The fact that Jesse didn't sue only proves his lack of concern over money.

Jesse came out and said the book is an unfair representation of his life.

When a man of Jesse's dignity, track record and honor makes such a statement.

The world believes him.
