Broncos' Terrell: Politically Active WR

Read a recent blurb on how Broncos' receiver, David Terrell read Barack Obama's book and was moved to become active in support of the presidential candidate.

"Terrell's involvement to date has been to create a "Free Mind for Obama" T-shirt line and spread the word through a group of athletes and entertainers."

While we applaud Terrell's efforts and his initiative; it does make us wonder. Why are other NFL wide receivers not doing the same?

Terrell is a solid player, but certainly is not high profile. He seems intelligent enough, backing Obama. That seems to provide evidence that the man is awash in common sense. But, we are hesitant to believe he brings enough star power to the table.

In that light, we are initiating a campaign to draft high profile receivers into political activity.

If Terrell can come up with a T-shirt line to spread the message, imagine what others would develop. Clearly, the time is right and there is public support (more pointedly....demand) for the politically active WR. This seems like a normal evolution of the sport and the position.

We have watched Hollywood diva's and hunky actors expand their world of influence to include politics and foreign policy issues. Terrell's action shows us that the time is now ripe for the sharp, popular and common sensical young Negro WR of the NFL to mobilize.

The common feeling is that with more money, more power and more celebrity: there is more responsibility.

We have reached a point in both sport and politics that it is now just plain irresponsible for folks like Randy, TO and Chad Johnson not to be at the forefront of political activity. Their fame and fortune has been achieved through commitment and hard work. Common sense and intelligence. And rational understanding of people and events. It has also been achieved through the public accepting and being behind them.

It's time for Randy, TO and CJ to pay the public back. It's time for them to not only be leaders in the press and on the field; but, leaders at the polling station.

We anxiously await the day we see TO on C-SPAN, Randy on "Meet the Press" and CJ on the dias at a White House news conference.

As the fans who have put them on a pedestal and anxiously followed every move the press has reported on them: We deserve it.

Nay, we are owed it.

Did you see my campaign and the results? I'm not sure the white devils of this country are ready for black WRs to become politically active. They only want us to be lieutentat governers and representatives - the poltical equivalent of tight ends.

Sir, we believe your stutter had more to do with your poor results than anything.

Randy, TO and CJ are far too articulate for the white devil not to be impressed.

More likely to see them on Americas Most Wanted or Pimp my Ride.

"Pimp my Ride."

Sir, yet another example of the racist nature of the white devils who control the media. 'Pimp my ride' is a show in which various minorities brethren work together to improve the pathetic status of automobiles of individuals from all cultures who willingly and excitedly give them their vehicle to do all of this for free. Yet, there is a show 'Overhaulin' in which a group of whites unlawfully STEAL and unsuspecting and unwitting victim's prized automobile and then proceed to extensively alter it without the knowledge and prior approval of the owner. They often impersonate members law enforcement agencies to commit their crime, which is also a crime. Yet, this show is praised while it's culturally diverse counterpart is mocked and has become a joke.

Sir, I have never seen that show on MTV or BET. Where would one find it?

"Sir, I have never seen that show on MTV or BET. Where would one find it?"

Sir, despite the white media telling us those are the only two channels for us to watch, I have recently discovered that there are a whole host of 'white' specific channels. This show, specifically, is on a channel called, "The Learning Channel". The white devil uses the educational system to keep our bretheren down, however, due to mandated laws, he is not allowed actively discriminate. As such, sir, the white devil keeps the educational system in an impoverished state for all, but then secretly allows and encourages the white children to watch channels like TLC, Discovery channel, National Geographic and such, so that the white children may get an education and maintain their power hold over us. Sir, apparently, flipping houses quickly and making fantasy gardens are the pathway to power, as the white channels show this incessantly.

nation_of_islam_sportsblog said...

Sir, that, like so much else...is stolen from the Negro.

Elijah Mohammed said for years, fantasize about the garden and turn a profit on a fixer upper.

the problem with inner city public schools is that they cant get white people to teach there anymore. It is not because of the pay...percentage wise teachers have never been fairly compensated. The problem, from the teachers i spoke to, is the students today...many of whom show up late or not at all with not consequences from there parents. Also the physical threats they receive from weapon toting students. Of course this has nothing to do with skin color..although before these schools were mostly black these problems were not of an epedemic proportion.

articulate??...you need subtitles to understand them or perhaps an english to ebonics dictionary.

Aside from being black what makes you think that obama has the qualifications to be president...I mean even george bush had tons of experience compared to this neophyte.

Sir, Obama has significantly more experience than Bush with national politics. He is a Senator and serves IN Washington and is on national committees. Bush was a state Governor.

Additionally, if you had looked at Bush's experience, his track record, you might have thought twice about voting for him.

Failed oil executive.

Failed baseball executive.

How long exactly has he been a Senator..long enough to run the country i think not...and look at his attendance record..he rarely shows up to the national committees you say he serves on. But i give you credit for supporting a person who you most likely would qualify as "white Friendly"...he does actually speak english well.

Sir, and the inability to recognize and understand a rhetorical question is your ticket into the club.

Work for a solution to what? A solution to solving the problems of Negro America as seen through the eyes of a white racist?

Gee, your constructive view of Negro America, your unsurpassed grasp of history and your ability to sum things up with "racism and slavery have had no effect on Negro issues" and "quit whining, fix it yourself" makes it soooooooooo hard to completely dismiss your "questions".

AND, the fact that Braves did EXACTLY what YOU said was unnecessary...thereby PROVING you WRONG weighed into it as well.

The Braves PROVED you are out of touch on racial issues and discussions.

We'll answer your in depth questions with the attention that they deserve.

BTW, your spelling error didn't give us an out.

Your dismissal of common agreed upon historical effects, your inability to relate on any level to any Negro, and your racist outlook is what gave us the out.

Bush is not the issue the issue is other candidates for the UPCOMING election...the fact that you would support the least qualified candidate just because of his skin color speaks volumes about your overall flawed world views.

Sir, certainly Bush's experience is the issue.

You are the one that brought the experience up.

If we use the present office sitter as a benchmark for experience. We can see that Mr. Obama is as, or more, qualified the current president was for the office.

We'd suggest that YOUR discounting Mr. Obama because of the color of his skin is the flaw.

Clearly, you are willing to overlook the experience/qualification factors for white presidents/candidates. Yet, and unsuccessfully we might add, you try to make it an issue for the ONE dark skinned candidate.

Can you say....RACIST?

We knew YOU could.

Would you agree that the most qualified person should be president and that of the current candidates Obama is not close to being the most qualified...yet you are certain, based on what i have no idea, that he could run the country. If your goal is to just get someone in office as good as Bush then clearly you are lowering the bar. Again you present your view of attaining things at any cost...i feel bad for you.

Sir, we ask you:

When Bush ran against Gore, did you ask the same question?

And don't say yes. We both KNOW you voted for Bush.

So, see...since you didn't apply that principle when the white guys ran. And, now, you apply that principle. Well, that makes you racist.

Besides, what qualifies the other candidates more than Obama? To our knowledge, none has been president before.

Only Hilary has had an office in the White House, so by YOUR contentions, we should all vote for her, right?

"Again you present your view of attaining things at any cost...i feel bad for you. "

And, you again present your view of denying minorities opportunities to gain at any cost.

Racist. I feel bad for the children you influence with your Aryan agenda.

I am sorry to say that maybe we should...the democratic party still struggles to produce solid candidates.
Besides, what qualifies the other candidates more than Obama? To our knowledge, none has been president before.
But does he not have less political experience than all of them. I am not saying he could not one day be a good candidate...just get more experience first. Of course you are willing to overlook that lack of experience just because of his skin color...that makes you wrong and you know it. I mean besides writing a couple of books..what has obama done...give me some facts as to what he has accomplished as a politician. Here is your chance..you supposedly are so strong with facts...find some.

Ummm...negative.

You have in zero instances substantiated any of your claims.

If anyone is going to look things up, it is you.

You claim he is inexperienced and has done nothing.

You can prove it.

And, while you are at it, make sure to compare his record of experience to other candidates.

Our credibility is intact. The Braves subtantiated that.

It is you that has none. You have done nothing but espoused your racist insight with ZERO factual back up.

"But does he not have less political experience than all of them"

And this is a bad thing? You'd rather have some corrupt product of the insiders' system? Typical of the white racist. Keep the power locked within.

Abe Lincoln is generally acknowledged as one of our greatest presidents. He brought little experience to the table.

Again, history mocks your sorry opinions. And reality laughs at your logic.

Don't worry. A stopped clock is right twice a day.

Eventually you will hit on something that is correct.

Til then, stay bitter.

Sir, which white man?

The Spurs "dominant" white man is Manu. The Jazz's is Kirilenko. The Cav's is.....??? And the Piston's is....?????

Take your pick from those. Any other white man is home now. And certainly not "dominating" the NBA.

Last 2 MVP's are white..i would say that is dominating.

nation_of_islam_sportsblog said...

"Last 2 MVP's are white..i would say that is dominating. "

Sir, we agree.

The white man is completely dominant on the court.

The poor Negro has certainly been shown that he is non-competitive on the basketball court and certainly does not belong out there with such a cast of dominant white players.

And two in a row...what do they call that when someone or a team wins two in a row....oh, that's a dynasty, right? We are witnessing a dynasty of white players before our very eyes in the NBA.

What a sight to behold.

Ashame tho...all that dynastic white talent in the last 2 MVP's....and nothing remotely resembling a championship to show for it.

Some would say...that players that excel during the regular season, and then get beat down in the playoff...some would say, those guys have no heart.

That's another attribute you forgot to describe this years dynastic MVP.

You can have your MVP.

Gimme a skinny brotha with heart any day.

Gimme Big Shot Bob.

Again players like nash and nowitzki show that the white talent exists...it must be that NBA teams are not doing enough to find the talent. Maybe Larry Bird should be appointed to a post to make sure that no matter what white players are represented...meaning that the only fair thing is that an NBA team has a maximum of 10 percent black players(representing their percentage of the population). I mean if teams represent their communities how can the Utah Jazz have more than one black player. Tell me how this is different than the Braves situation?? I am sure you can spin it.
