Amare: Back to School

Just wanted to share this quick bullet:

"Phoenix Suns star Amare Stoudemire is going back to school. Stoudemire plans to take classes at Arizona State this summer, according to an interview with KTVK-TV's Brad Cesmat in Phoenix.
Amare was asked about his summer plans: "The Olympics are still up for grabs, I played 82 games this season so I dont want to do too much coming off two knee surgeries, and I'm go to try and attend summer school, I'm going on campus and major in history probably at ASU."
Stoudemire jumped to the NBA directly from high school in Orlando."

Probably not something that is going to get a lot of attention; what with the Bengals having their problems again and all.

We just wanted to point out something that is quite common and gets little play in the mainstream media; while the Bengals and such get the headlines.

That something being all the young Negro athletes out there doing the right thing and good things.

That is all.

Sir, it is not our fault the media chooses not to report things like this.

My goodness. You complain that Negroes hate education and need to do something to make education more of a priority.

And, here is a guy setting a wonderful example.

And you bitch about that.

Any casual observer can see that no matter what Negroes do, it will not resonate through your racist hate.

Shall we fashion some giant sea vessels. Round up all the Negroes against their will and place all the Negroes aboard and send them away?

Oh wait, that's how they got here in the first place!

Even positive things that Negroes do piss you off.

Mmmm.

Pathetic.

Sir, yes. Amare is the white man's worst nightmare.

Trying to better himself...and he's rich, bitch.

Anonymous will get no sleep tonite.

How many of these things do YOU report...uh one..nice job.

Sir, we aren't reporters.

Your insult is wasted.

Although, we did point out how the Braves completely agreed with Rainbow/PUSH's contention that they weren't doing enought to locate and develop Negro talent. SO they hired Hank Aaron to do it.

Remember that?

Thank you for writing about this. We always say that the kids who jump right from high school to the NBA can go to college someday, but I haven't seen too many make that choice.

Kudos to Amare for pursuing further education.

Well these posts you put out are meant to inform..so give more examples..i mean it should be easy to find since it is "quite common".

Sir, funny, you have a lot of demands for a man who has come here without ONE piece of evidentiary support for each self purported "fact" that you bring.

Your only reference has been "I have seen it".

Quite the scientific methodology you have there.

We said it before, but we gave in and brought facts and references anyway...until you come with something other than "I observed it"...we'll hold of on educating you.

Time for you to do some research on your own.

We've wasted enough time spoonfeeding you reality.

Racist.

I know now you are trying to save face in front of your white hating readership. It is okay you can just say you exaggerate things..we know it is true...you give one example of things and say that is the rule...when i do it..you call me racist.
if the amare story is quite common..then so is the tank johnson story...u cant have it both ways.

Sir, so, your contention is that it is as common for an NBA player to finish his degree as it is for an NFL player to spend time in jail in the offseason for gun charges?

Ok. We'll take you up on that.

Carter and Jamison went back to school at UNC and finished their degrees.

Your turn.

Give us some other NFL players that have ever spent their off season's in jail on gun charges.

(That wrongness feels so natural, doesn't it, anon?)

you are right...i admit it...can i expand my thesis to include drug charges as well?

Sir, sure. As long as you find someone besides Jamal Lewis to support your contention.

And you are still behind in the count.

Did Jamal Lewis turn white?? HAHA
we'll take Lewis and add Chris Henry..your turn.

Sir,

Shaquille O'Neal
Michael Jordan
Jerry Stackhouse
J.R. Reid
Juwan Howard (left early and still graduated on time)
Adonaly Foyle
Avery Johnson

Your turn.

Hit us with that never ending list of NFL players that have spent their offseasons in jail.

:)

seems pretty clear that it is more common for an NBA player to go back and get his degree than for an NFL player to spend the offseason in jail. just admit it and move on, anon. damn. don't you get tired of being wrong?

yes maybe so...but graduating is what you are SUPPOSED to do..NOIS wants it to be a lead story every time it happens....
Like chris rock says...you SUPPOSED to raise your kids..dont expect a pat on the back for it.

A fool is the man who would argue with one named "Al Sharpton's Banana Hammock."

'Supposed' to graduate from college? Yeah, somebody should've told these leeches:

And that is where you is wrong.

You think the majority of kids ballin' in college that leave early to go pro are "supposed" to graduate?

LOL..man, ingorant and naive dont even begin to explain you.

Player, the game for kids at that level ain't graduating.

The game is the school gets a year or two of revenue generation out of them. The kid gets a year or two of polishing his skills and building some hype.

Graduating?! LOL.

Too funny.

wow is that a breakthrough..that maybe you dont think it is all about race?? you mean could it be that white college athletes are playing by those same corrupt rules....

Sir, please.

There may be the lone white athlete that is a victim of this system enacted by the white college planation official...but really. How often is there speculation about white players leaving early? Before the new rules, jumping directly to the NBA?

Please, there are tolken white players here and there...just to appease. (You love the idea that everything is done to appease, so you should agree with this).

Seriously, look at this draft. What white players jumped early? Josh McRob....ahahahahahah....can't even get through his entire name without laughing....

funny how nothing applies to white people...you are a hypocrit and a black bigot....if we knew who your daddy was we would have a talkin with him.

Sir, you complain like a baby pulled too soon from his momma's teet when we say white people should assume the responsibility and blame for certain things.

Then, when we say that white people aren't part of something, instead of saying "damned right, this ain't bout YT", you continue to complain.

Again, there is no pleasing you sir.

Thanks for posting the story. This is the kind of thing that weakens my resistance to early entry- guys who have the maturity to go back to school (and major in history, no less). I do wonder how he'll get through class without being mobbed, though. I'm fairly certain most people at ASU would recognize him, or at least go "damn, that guy's tall!"

As for some of the comments that will be above mine, it amazes me how many people don't understand the thrust of this blog- and how many of them don't even have the guts to identify themselves in any way.
