HBCU Update: Hampton U and the NFL Combine

Just a quick note of pride for all you HBCU grads that frequent this blog:

Hampton University is leading the way for non D-I schools at the NFL combine this year. The Pirates had 5 players invited to the workout.

Interestingly enough, that is more than USC!

Who knew that there were more NFL prospects out in Hampton Roads, VA than in the mighty land of Troy?

I'm sure that has NOTHING to do with USC returning nearly it's entire team outside of it's starting two WRs

I'm sure that has nothing to do with USC returning nearly it's entire team next year, really.

Sir, actually, USC lost a few more players than just the starting WR's. Additionally, in years past, schools like USC, OSU, Miami...etc, all have lost players that chose to leave early.

USC isn't having as many players choose the draft this year.

We chalk it up to the fact that schools like Hampton have achieved a talent level that has made the USC underclassmen think twice about their draft status.

Fight On.................Pirates.
