Roger Clemens: Congressional Probe

Initially, we were greatly surprised to read that Congress has decided that they are unsure of the veracity of Roger Clemens presentation before them a few weeks ago. In response, Congress has decided to look more deeply into the issue and has asked Justice to investigate Clemens for possibly lying under oath.

Certainly, we would have expected Congressional outrage and media vilification of Clemens; at least on the level that the Home Run King received.

To this point, it didn't seem forthcoming.

So, obviously, it was a bit surprising to see Congress attempting to pass out equal treatment to the pitcher (read: caucasoid).

Until sitting in front of the Congressional committee, Clemens flew relatively below the radar on the steroid screen. Sure, since day one his name had been mentioned. But, everyone wanted to wait for hard evidence and actual incriminating testimony from third parties/friends before 'indicting' him. Taking testimony from 'mistresses' with agendas and drug dealers facing charges were only satisfactory when 'indicting' the Home Run King.

How did this game change? How is Clemens now being held accountable? Why?

Is it because of the media spotlight outlets like NOIS have been shining on Clemens for long months now? Though most readers would certainly give some credence to that theory, we believe the change in direction by both the legislature and the media is attributable to another factor.

Half-Brother Barack Obama.

As Obama has captured the heart and soul of this nation, both the media and Congress realize that they are in a position to have to fall in line with what this country will stand for and what this country wants.

Congress realizes that Obama in the White House is an inevitable conclusion. The media realizes this. And America wants this.

Certainly, with a Half-Brother as the chief executor of the nation, a focus of both the legislative branch of government and the fourth estate will be on equality and fair treatment of all. It is in that interest that Congress has now decided that they can no longer allow Clemens to roam freely in the face of virtually indisputable evidence showing he sat in front of them and lied to their faces.

A tremendous Hispanic player did that to them, and he was run out of the game of baseball.

It is now time to send Roger Clemens to the gallows. To run him out of the sport and to further make an example out of him by incarcerating him for his perjurious utterings before elected and treasured leaders.

Fairness in treatment on this level would not be possible had not Barack Obama taken flight on his majestic journey to lead a shackled nation to freedom. The government and press had been content to devalue, dethrone and destroy the Home Run King. But Obama's presence and his inevitable role as guide in change has manifested a renewed understanding of what 'justice for all' truly means.

So, realize, as baseball (and all sports) seek to provide the nation with a clean and honest product of interest and diversion; realize that it would not be possible had not a young half-original man not had the spirit and faith to follow his dream to free his country through change.

Yes, we can change!

And getting the pitcher (see above for definition) out of baseball is the first major step.

I disagree that this is a necessary or "major" step towards change.

I understand how, perhaps, you can make the argument that this can be seen as a microcosm of the coming the evolution of our society.

But not how one may classify it as an integral step. In fact, post-Clemens, an integral step should be for Congress to separate themselves from most issues involving sports.

Our nation, and Obama, have many more important issues to discuss.

Sir, sports is not simply sports or games.

It is imperative that Congress immerse itself in the business of sports.

Sports are culture.

Sports are economics that drive various industries (tv, ads, apparell, clothing, media, etc).

To blindly say 'sports are just a game, why does Congress care'...is simply burying one's head in the sand.

Sports are an ingrained feature of of our society.

What better way for Obama to initiate change than starting with something that touches virtually all of us (in one way or another).

Kudos to the Half-Brother for recognizing the one thing that truly does tie this country together....and mandating change.

Yes, we can change.

Can you?

hey dummy....if you read what nois wrote, you would see that he said the first major step was getting "the pitcher out of the game"...and if you read what he previously said the pitcher was (WHITE people), you would see that nois is advocating getting white people out of baseball as being the first step of Obama changing the country.

Jesus. You are talking about sports with NOIS and his post was about getting white people out of America being the type of change Obama should make.

I dont know who is dumber, you or nois?

I would like to change to a sports land where all athletes are FORCED to do performance enhancing drugs, then maybe Jeter would be worth a shit and I wouldn't cringe every time someone talks about how awesome that (what is he exactly, Negspanic, a Spangro?) guy is.

Sir, in a way...athletes are forced to use PEDs.

PED's originated as the white athletes response to the superior genetic athleticism of the Negro athlete.

So, speaking in real terms, melanin deficient athletes were forced to use them.

At least that is how this terrible plague of PED's did start.

I agree to an extent, and such a blind view is not my own.

If you'll notice I wrote most issues involving sports.

To put it simply, the removal of Clemens is not integral to change. Nor is it a major step. Changing the perceptions that drive discriminatory actions are.

Sir, we would proffer that actually changing the actions would be an even more extensive (major?) step.

Which is what Half-Brother Barack is doing.

Thank you for your agreement.

agreed.

i mean, do you just talk about doing stuff, or do you actually do something!

removing clemens actually does something AND it helps change perception by giving a clear cut, physically real example or what is right.

kudos to NOIS for bringing this to light.

Obama isn't just stale words. He is action!

There is something to be said about basic assumptions. And the subtleties of an argument.

He equated the necessary change in baseball to the progressive change Obama endorses, am I correct?

That being the case, I took up debate with him with that basic assumption in mind.

"Sir, we would proffer that actually changing the actions would be an even more extensive (major?) step."

Point taken, and at this juncture it would be irresponsible to ignore the lies that Clemens has spewed under oath.

However, for the future, part of the change Obama endorses is a departure from petty politics. The use of steroids in sports is by no means a petty issue, and needs to be addressed.

But the petty revenge approach, where we crucify the player, and not the league as a whole, is an altogether more important change we should focus on. In essence, grassroots change is needed.

and grassroots change is bottom up!...start with clemens and move to the owners...where did nois say that the owners shouldn't be taken to task as this thing moves forward???? where???

Stale Variety said...

"and grassroots change is bottom up!...start with clemens and move to the owners"

I never stated that NOIS proposed "owners shouldn't be taken to task."

I have expressed disagreement with the proposition that the Clemens issue is the first battle in a larger war.

Taking Clemens to task is an important individual issue. However it is also subscribes to the rules of a broken system.

We will have taken our first major step when we change our approach to steroid regulation.

The most efficient solution for the FUTURE would allow us to avoid endless battles with individual athletes.

ummm...sure.

and then what?

you are waving millions of dollars in front of peoples faces. human nature will dictate that some of those people find ways to get ahead or cheat.

basically, you are saying that the course of action is to find a way to change human nature.

and people say obama is a pied piper!

Who really gives a shit about Clemens and for that matter baseball anyways!?!?

And....what's up with this page! Why is it all white with little black print! NOIS needs to be aware of this cruelty. I want to read a black page with little 'white print' Until this injustice is taken care of, I demand a boycott!!!

Can we get a Favre post immediately?

Clearly this man is has benefited greatly from the Negro WR and is taking all the credit. His career would be nonexistent without the Negro WR. Yet there Antonio Freeman and other former and current Packer WRs were on ESPN yesterday singing Favre's praises, without taking any credit themselves...why have we not educated those Negros to not bow down to the white man, my fellow righteous teachers? After all, we are the only 5% who know anything, the rest are poor lost souls who can't get by without us.

Also, why are we letting the paleface cracker Scott Spiezio off the hook?

one fish two fish red fish blue fish said...

Righteous....

Favre is getting so much credit due to the ingenuity of his name spelling. See it's actually pronounced Farve but it's spelled Favre. This devil is full of trickery as it is! Perhaps if Antonio Freeman was indeed a "free-man!" this wouldn't have happened!

Why is the sky blue?
Why is water wet?

North Carolina has defeated Duke! Let us rejoice that white devil "Coach" KKK and his regime has been overthrown by the genetically and physically superior Negroes of UNC!!! Tyler Hansbrough would be nothing without his Negro teammates - he is merely riding their backs and using them to bolster his success and draft status! Roy Williams is parading Hansbrough around as the poster boy without giving any credit to his Negro players!! The crackers of Duke have brainwashed innocent Negros such as DeMarcus Nelson, Gerald Henderson, Nolan Smith, and Lance Thomas to join the racist Duke basketball team!!! WE MUST EDUCATE THESE BROTHERS AND ORDER THEM TO TRANSFER TO GEROGETOWN IMMEDIATELY!!! Only there will superior brother John Thompson III unleash their full capabilities and will they be free from the shackles of the white man!!!
