Matt Jones:Out of Control Illegalities Leading to Sale of Team?

Jaguars' wide receiver Matt Jones was arrested early this AM for possibly supporting terrorism and certainly supporting the infiltration of, and concerted effort to destroy the Negro community through the CIA's drug expansion program.

Jones was caught in his car with various illegal substances. In enough quantity to, at least initially, invite a felony charge.

We have no doubt that Jones stature as one of the handful of color-free receivers in the league will eventually lead to a reduction or dismissal of charges.

The question really becomes, how will the team and Roger Goodell handle this?

Goodell has endeavored to walk softly and carry a big stick. At least in relation to the Negro offenders of the arbitrary and undefined league rules.

How will Goddell handle this? Particularly if it ends up being a felony charge.

We are already getting a clear sense of how the Jaguars' ownership intends to handle the shame Jones has brought the team:

The Philadelphia Daily News reported that owner Wayne Weaver was negotiating to sell the Jaguars to billionaire C. Dean Metropoulos, who might consider moving the team to Los Angeles.

Clearly, the connection between the arrest of the Great White Hope Wide Receiver and ownership's purported abandonment of the team and the city is unmistakable.

As fans of the NFL, we are awash in the shame that Jones has brought the league and his team.

And, we respect Weaver's desire to distance himself and the city of Jacksonville from Jones and his misanthropic, Negro-community-sabotaging-thru-personal-use-of-street-drugs lifestyle.

We applaud the owner of the Jags for showing his support for the Negro community in this manner.

Clearly, this is what you can expect when you allow white players off the line or out from behind center.

It is a glorious day whenever a honkey "athlete" gets arrested! This has truly made my day, I'm off to Rainbow Beach on 79th to celebrate!

As always, Fight On Righteously, My Negro Brethren!!

Sir, wear a helmet.

Sirs, who needs a helmet when you're packin' heat?

Gotta keep them crackas away...

If Pacman, sorry Adam Jones, gets suspended for an entire season without conviction, shouldn't Matt Jones get exactly the same?
If the Rog doesn't give Jones the boot, the league should give him the boot.

Sir, Matt Jones will get off because he is a honkey.

Goodell hates Negroes. Don't try to tell Us otherwise.

"Don't try to tell us otherwise".

Sir, that sounds like a challenge!

Sir, the only challenge in this story is understanding the depths of Mr. Jones' problems.

Using drugs is one thing.

But returning to Arkansas?

Clearly the man has some deep internal issues.

Really? I'm pretty sure that talk of selling the team had occured before the incident with Matt Jones. There is no way that moving the team is related Jones' arrest.

"Goodell hates Negroes. Don't try to tell Us otherwise."
Then why has Marshawn Lynch not been suspended yet? In case you don't know, he was involved with a hit-and-run in Buffalo after a night out on the town in late May. He admitted to driving his car when he hit the person, but has yet to be suspended or fined or anything.

Oh, and guess what? Marshawn is black.

Side note...as a Bills fan I hope Lynch isn't suspended because the Bills need him.

Brad Miller suspended too...could this day get any better!!

Sir, if you happened to notice, we are pretty sure that the Jags have been unhappy with Jones' development. And have questioned his motivation and attitude. Prior to the incident.

The Jags are a wealthy organization, and certainly have the resources to make themselves aware of what goes on in their players personal lives.

Clearly, management was well aware of the path Jones was on.

And more clearly, chose not to go public with their intentions to rid themselves and the city of the shame of Jones until this incident occurred.

You can't be dense enough to believe that this was some random incident, and the team hadn't been preparing for it for months...can you?

Sir, this is shameful.

Typical.

And racist.

As a Bills fan, you 'need' him?

What about wanting to help him cope with the pressures the NFL has put on him? What about wanting to help him find the root causes that the BIlls and the NFL are responsible for that CAUSED the hit and run incident?

But...YOU need him.

For shame, racist. For shame.

Let's ignore all the other Jaguar player arrests since Del Rio became head coach. And Jones was never a Great White Hope wideout; he was a college QB, not good enough for the pros, just good enough to force Tavaris 'I throw like a girl' Jackson to the bench and then to transfer.

"he was a college QB, not good enough for the pros, just good enough to force Tavaris 'I throw like a girl' Jackson to the bench"

Sir, are you refering to Tavaris Jackson...the guy that apparently IS good enough to start as a PRO, NFL QB?

Interesting argument.

Convoluted,irrational, illogical and thoroughly foolish.

But interesting, nonetheless.

"And Jones was never a Great White Hope wideout"

he wasn't? then why did the media pump him like a swedish penis pump after the combines? talking bout how he is the best pure athlete in the draft, his vertical, his speed, his POTENTIAL at WR?

sounds like the great white hope to me.

Don't ever try to tell me Matt Jones wasn't seen as a "great white hope" b y football fans. If he wasn't, then he wouldn't have been drafted about 930 rounds too high every year in every fantasy league I ever played in.

Unknown said...

Racist? Why, because I point out a black athlete who ran into trouble with the law and had not been suspended by Goodell? You act like every single incident by a black player automatically results in a suspension or fine. But surprise, here's a black athlete who hasn't gotten in trouble with the league yet.

Or is it because I said that the Bills need him? With him in the game, defenses have to pay attention to him which could open things up for the receivers and give Edwards more chances to makes plays at QB.

I don't question that the team knew and was upset with Jone's decisions in his social life. But you said
"Clearly, the connection between the arrest of the Great White Hope Wide Receiver and ownership's purported abandonment of the team and the city is unmistakable."

Now reading that, it seems that because of Jone's arrest the owner wants to sell the team leading to the team being moved. His arrest has no affect on the team's sale.

Tavaris Jackson only starts because the Vikings have no one else. The other quarterbacks include Gus Frerotte, Brooks Bollinger, and John David Booty. Frerotte is getting up there in age, Bollinger just isn't good, and David Booty is a rookie this year.

Unknown said...

One more thing, you want to know what caused the hit-and-run? Alcohol. Not the Bills. Not the NFL. Not the idea that everyone is out go get him because he is a black athlete. No, none of that. Combine alcohol with a drunk lady dancing into the street on a raining night and you have yourself a nice little hit-and-run.

Dice said...

@Keven:

They also wanted him to bulk up and play tight end, solely because he was white, despite his measurables. Jones was no different than a bunch of athletic QBs forced to change positions because option QBs don't work in the pros, except his skin color. And like a bunch of them, he failed. The Randel Els, Kordell Stewarts, etc, are the exception, not the rule. Far more common to see these ultra athletes sidelined or out of the league because they suck at catching/route running/you name it. There's more to playing in the NFL than pure speed.

@NOIS

I believe that Childress mistakenly sees the next McNabb in Jackson. The same pro QB that teams were daring to pass by playing 4-4-3s and putting 8 and sometimes 9 men in the box.
When the opposing defense believes it can win by forcing a QB to play as a QB, something is wrong.

Packer out, Kellogg in.

A sign of the direction in which ESPN is finally going. After their racist firing of Negro Brother Harold Reynolds, this certainly can only be the beginning of their attempt at reparations. Jim Nantz, you're next.

I'm off to vandalize the bacon display at the local supermarket to show my joy.

Except for the fact that they work for CBS, not ESPN.

Sir, your denseness never ceases to amaze me.

Harold Reynolds worked for ESPN, Packer worked for CBS. CBS and ESPN are not related; they are not owned by the same company.
I must be missing something for you to make the connection between Packer getting fired and ESPN's reparations for its "racist" firing. Please tell me what it is that I'm not seeing

Goodell will bring the hammer down on Matt Jones. Jones was a terrible QB, a workout wonder (woohoo, look high I can jump!), then a mediocre WR with a poor work ethic and drug habit.

In Roger the Terrible's eyes, Matt Jones is a negro. And Roger does not like negroes.

I am envious of the Negro working schedule.
