The reason is twofold - I don't have the time or desire to go in-depth, and I don't think it is necessary. As the humble idiot I have been referred to here, I was merely making a blanket statement based on historical truths that would lead one to logically conclude that African-Americans have essentially been hand-picked and "trained" for 400 plus years to be athletically superior to any other racial or ethnic group (including Africans or other "black people"). I'm not going to claim extensive knowledge of the "original human" idea or of NOI tenets, but I'm pretty sure neither Elijah M. nor Farrakhan refer(red) to athletic ability when speaking on it. That said, I assumed that when you applied that theory to modern day sports (I add here that it's not the first time someone has made such a claim), you did so as a matter of your own opinion. So I did the same from an evolutionary stance.
It's fairly logical that slave traders bought and/or took the most "athletic" African warriors, those that were strong enough to survive the trip were put into a short life of physically strenuous manual labor. Considering the amount of time that these conditions existed, it seems more logical to me that the evolutionary stress put upon African-Americans created such athletic skill. Now I know this isn't as logically convincing as say, a giant Mother Wheel in the sky, but I don't think it takes anything away from African-American achievements. Rather, I think it takes the support for such high natural athletic ability from the level of religious rhetoric to one of logic that, from a NOI point of view, would help you effectively state such a position to someone opposed to your belief system, and possibly make them agree with you (however, I don't want to stop you from attempting to alienate any and all groups that might sympathize with you).
I just wanted you to rationally refute what I was saying, so that I could refine or change my own argument.
I know you assumed so from my first post (my first name kind of gives it away) but I am about as pasty white as they come, short of having flaming red hair. But as a matter of personal morality, I support most movements of the historically oppressed to better their position. But I always try to counter-balance myself and others with the rationale that every ethnic group on earth has been oppressed and their oppressors all had one thing in common - money and power. Modern day is no different and I think is the best support for that claim as ethnic divisions increasingly blur. My family has always been poor and I am lucky for that because I can relate to people that I otherwise would not have any reason to. That's all.
On with the bashing of this "passive aggressive white dolt." I apologize to Malik especially (notice I refer to you in the second person, talking directly to you, to insult you, instead of speaking around you. If you don't get it, look up the meaning of passive-aggressive, that should provide some insight). It's too bad Pryor isn't here to do the bashing for you, at least I could have gotten a laugh out of it. BTW, Malik Himmelstein? Farrakhan's head would explode if he ever heard that one. Let's walk through this:
A) You write a satirical article and state your "original human" idea regarding professional sports.
B) I respond with an argument that race has nothing to do with the amount of African-Americans in sports, and in the process regrettably chide you for your historical blindness (now you're responses consist of statements like "Ka-Boom!").
C) I also refute your questionable numbers regarding Africans in basketball and explain a little NBA history in the process.
D) After asking politely several times and ignoring your now desperate attempts to pull me into the type of adolescent internet name-calling typical of the person you are showing yourself to be, you still have yet to provide one single ounce of information to refute my argument...Unless you are counting your last point that I am "not worth a response." By the way how many responses have you now made to my comments?
All this and still nothing relevant to the argument I made that blows your sadly weak example of racial supremacy theory out of the water, in the same way history has always shot holes in any racial supremacy argument. Maybe your own racism has blinded you into thinking that I myself am implying something racist in my argument when actually I am implying that it is the unique historical condition of the African -American that makes them athletically superior and not their African ancestry.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4820078089278798499.post-84958099441214898632007-03-08T18:57:00.000-05:002007-03-08T18:57:00.000-05:00"But continuing to ignore my request for you to di..."But continuing to ignore my request for you to disprove my "original human" argument or make your own is making me think that you either can't or you agree with it"

Sir, OR our ignoring your request could be a sign we think you aren't worth a response.
